About Me
Humble Beginning
My name is Ian Joseph Supan, proudly born and raised in the province of Tarlac. Growing up on a farm taught me the values of hard work, resilience, and patience — qualities that have guided me throughout my academic journey and professional career. From a young age, I consistently excelled in school, graduating as Valedictorian in elementary and maintaining honor distinctions all throughout high school and college. In 2018, I completed my Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics at Tarlac State University, graduating as Cum Laude, and later earned graduate school units and passed the university’s comprehensive examinations.
My teaching career began at Academia de Santiago of Tarlac, Inc., where I taught Mathematics from Grades 1 to 10 for more than two years. There, I developed a deep understanding of inclusive education and learned how to support learners with diverse needs. I later served as a substitute teacher in a public school for almost four months, where I created and contributed instructional modules for the entire school district—earning certificates and recognition for my contributions.
In 2021, I took a major step in my career and moved to the United States as an international educator. I began as a 7th-grade Math Teacher and a UIL Coach, leading teams in Number Sense, Mathematics, and Calculator Applications. I have taught both regular and accelerated classes, continuously pushing my students toward high achievement. Currently, I teach 8th Grade Math and Algebra 1, and I am proud to have guided my Algebra 1 scholars to an outstanding 97% passing rate in the 2025 Spring STAAR Test.
Throughout my career, I have been honored with several distinctions that reflect my dedication to teaching and leadership. I was recognized as the Teacher of the Year (2023–2024) at New Tech Middle School, a testament to my commitment to excellence and student success. I have also been awarded Teacher of the Month multiple times for my consistent performance, innovation, and positive impact on the school community. One of my greatest honors was being chosen as the Graduation Speaker for the Class of 2025, where I delivered a message of perseverance, inspiration, and hope to our young scholars.
Beyond awards, I continue to grow as a leader and mentor. I currently serve as the Math Department Chair, helping guide curriculum planning, assessment decisions, and instructional improvement. I am a committed member of the Newcomer Committee, supporting students who are new to the school and helping them transition successfully. I also mentor two teachers, providing coaching, instructional guidance, and professional support as they grow in their teaching careers.
With a heart for teaching and a passion for lifelong learning, I remain committed to inspiring learners, empowering educators, and making a meaningful impact in every community I serve. From the farm fields of Tarlac to classrooms in the United States, my journey is a reflection of faith, perseverance, and a genuine love for education.
